Two friends, taxi driver Lala and flight attendant Wera, dream of going to America. However, each of them has a different idea of how to make that dream come true. Lala, believing that the “American dream” is a state of mind, decides to audition for a film starring the superstar Jack Monday. Thus begins her journey in search of herself and her place in the world. “Call Me Lala” is a fairy-tale-like story about friendship and the delayed adulthood of the millennial generation.
